These Terms of Service govern your use of the website located at https://sorinelectronics.co.uk and any related services provided by Sorin Electronics.

As soon as your device arrives, it will be inspected and assessed for repairs. There are some faults which we might not be able to fix. If this is the case, there is a £25 flat fee for the time spent on to your device. If we make any repairs to your device, you won’t have to pay the £25 fee.
We usually record the repairs and publish them on YouTube while protecting your private data such as names, pictures, documents, or login details. We do this for education and entertainment; however, you may opt out of this on the book-in form.
When your device is ready to be returned, you will be notified by email and an invoice provided. Please note, if an item hasn’t been claimed and paid for after 3 months, it will be disposed of/recycled. For ‘a laptop not coming on’ fault, we have a fixed price, which we set at two levels: standard laptops, and gaming and premium laptops. This reflects the higher component costs for premium devices. We try to keep our prices as competitive as possible for regular jobs such as replacement of screens, lightning, micro-usb, usb and usb-c charging ports, HDMI ports, batteries, hard drive and Windows issues, keyboards, and hinge problems. We also deal with liquid or water damage repairs. Please bear in mind, where there is any damage, repairing it may reveal further faults, for example in keyboards, touchpads, or touchscreens. In this case it will be further costs as we need to repair/replace those too. Another example could be replacing a battery, a charging or HDMI port but after this is completed there may be a further reason the device is not charging or displaying.
Data recovery is an extremely demanding job requiring great skill from our experienced repairers. As a result, we charge at a fixed rate of £100/hour (labour only) for this kind of work. We know your data is priceless, but dealing with rusty or cracked boards, tracks, or layers, or missing or damaged components is a very time-consuming job.

Long Review - TL;DR: Sorin is excellent and we need more repair shops like him. I spilled liquid on my laptop and shortly after it became stuck in a boot loop. I disconnected the battery myself and sent it to Sorin within a few days, he replied to my initial query within hours, same with the quote. I contacted one other place local to me and they simply said they "would recommend replacing the motherboard" and that "a motherboard repair on this is not worth it as the cost will be more and the success rate is low"—all without having even looked at the laptop in person. I have no doubt that if I went to almost any other place, such as Currys or another standard independent repair shop, they would say the same and suggest either a £1500+ motherboard replacement or refuse the repair altogether. Sorin, on the other hand, contacted me hours after I submitted an enquiry, gave me a quote much lower than I had anticipated, kept that exact same quote once he had diagnosed it, and shipped the laptop back to me less than 48 hours later (less than an hour after I had paid) for me to receive it the next day fully insured. The turnaround was incredibly fast, i had my laptop back with me just 3 days after sending it to him. The laptop display was cleaned and even the somewhat strong smell of the drink I had spilled on it was completely gone. We need more honest people like Sorin who actually do board-level repairs, instead of repair shops that only do part swaps and blanket-quote a new motherboard or part that is hundreds of pounds more than what it would be if they actually did board repairs. This lazy culture that's become so popular results in massive e-waste as people simply buy a new device. Worst of all it causes people to lose hope in economical repairs and lose trust in repairmen. These shops lie and say electronics are not repairable (my experience is just one of thousands), parts must be replaced, or a whole new device may as well be bought, when in reality they just don't have the competency to do it themselves. They have no idea what they are talking about, nor do they have the honesty and decency to tell the customer to go elsewhere because they aren't qualified for board repairs. The only people it benefits are those dishonest repairshops and the large tech companies and stores. The average person does not know that their expensive electronics can (in many cases) be repaired at a fraction of the cost rather than having expensive parts replaced or buying an entirely new device. The biggest issue with those repair shops is the lies they perpetuate (i.e, that it "can't be repaired", or isn't "worth it" - literally what they said to me) rather than simply admitting they are incapable of board repairs. This is a massive issue in the electronics repair space and it's great to see that skilled and honest people like Sorin still exist and are happy to help. We need more people like him. You may also see my laptop on his Youtube channel as he said he did record it. if so i look forward to watching it. Thank you again, Sorin.

Fast reply to my initial enquiry. Quick turnaround of the repair. Asus quoted £500 to replace motherboard when Sorin could simply replace the USB-C ports for 25% of that. 5 weeks on and the laptop is working fine. Very pleased with the service from Sorin and will definitely use again. Highly recommend this service.

An exceptional technician with a deep knowledge and understanding of electronics and especially laptops. Probably the best ‘all round’ technician in the UK. Old school, deep electronics understanding. Ohms Law god.

I started following Sorin's channel on YouTube quite a few years ago. I have learned so much from him and there were a few jobs I couldn't handle that I sent to him. In all cases he was able to fix my customer's devices at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommended!
